The main highway from Cabo runs directly through the small town of El Pescadero, which means ‘The Fishermonger’ as this is the home to many generations reliant on fishing. You will find the locals and small tiendas, restaurants and services to be friendly and fair. A wonderful handmade blanket, your local necessities at the pharmacy or convenience store, an unbelievable bag of fresh-roasted coffee beans, filling up your tank for gas or even a delicious delivery pizza can all be found just a few minutes from Sal y Sol in El Pescadero.
There are several restaurants on the main street and tucked away in town. Ask a local for the best fish taco or a gringo for the best hamburger and you might find just what you're looking for! Farm-to-table restaurants and food trucks, as well as organic markets here in our neighborhood are popping up and thriving as more folks are looking for tasty and wholesome eateries. Your food options will be plentiful!
If a yoga class is what you are looking for, there are several options all over the area and checking local boards and social media will lead you to many unique experiences - whether you find yourself in downward dog in a fruit orchard or warrior three facing the sea! Keep your mind and heart open – it’s amazing what you will find in Baja.
Sandy Feet is a three-minute walk to the water down a quiet dirt road to San Pedrito Beach. Our beaches are uncrowded and pristine. The pros can paddle out up at the north end of the beach at the San Pedrito break, but these waves are not for the un-prepared… Plan instead to enjoy this section of coastline from the shore, taking long walks and watching the sunset from your chair or from the neighborhood beach bar Pura Playa where you will find epic margaritas, great music and always a good time!
When you are ready to explore the town of Todos Santos, grab your car and journey less than 15 minutes north on the highway to town. Here it is easy to spend the day walking the streets, admiring the public artwork, eating ice cream, shopping the boutiques and tiendas for jewelry, clothing, hats, artwork, ceramics, blankets, trinkets, tequilas and more. There is a town square that will often host cultural events. In this square you will also find a theater and a Catholic church, as well as fine dining restaurants. If you feel even more adventurous, there are several restaurants and sights to see further north of Todos and beyond the neighborhood of Las Tunas… a few hidden gems await and the longer drive is worth it! Todos Santos also boasts several cooking classes, tequila tastings, yoga and fitness studios, as well as the best mountain biking shops where you can rent bikes and educate yourself on the trails. Guided biking tours can also be arranged, as well as such excursions as ATV and dune buggy tours, horseback riding, stand-up paddle boarding lessons and more - all found in Todos and nearby. In Baja, there’s always something adventurous to do!
On the days you feel like swimming in the ocean or trying out surfing for the first time, Cerritos, less than 10 minutes by car, is where you’re headed! This surf town boasts several surf schools and surfboard rental outfitters. Find yourself walking the long flat sandy beach for miles before you decide to turn around and head back toward the landmark hotel on the hill. There are a few wonderful watering holes and restaurants along the beach and within the streets of Cerritos. Keep wandering and you’ll always find something new!
